Genuine vs. Forgeries
Belongs to the 1912 set, but first released around 1950. Mainly used to pay for radiotransmission telegrams with a rate of 1 Sang pr. word. As the Tibetan post closed down in 1956, forgeries started to appear. Some forgeries have a ‘genuine’ postmark. The forgeries are known is various colors: Yellow, Salmon-pink, dull green, sage green and slate-blue. The forgeries have these easy to see characteristics:
- – Lion’s eyes are small white dots
- – The letter ‘B’ of Tibet looks like an 8

1 stamp in the sheet with the ‘POTSAGE’ variety.
Known with genuine Lhasa postmark Hellrigl nr T15.
