4 genuine types exist. The half moon inside the circles in the corners are different for the different types as shown below. Used for the internal postage of the island. Valid from 10. December 1851 to 31. December 1859.  From both 15c & 30c a total value of 8 Francs was sold. The rest was destroyed in 1860. Reprints exist.

Letter to Bordeaux. Sent 1858 from St. Denis via Suez and Marseille, where the numeral cancellation “1896” (small digits) was applied on the stamp. Transit marks Paris and arrival Bordeaux. Six letters with this stamp are known.
